Graduate Program

Why join Toll?

Toll - where curious minds help shape the future of our logistics industry.

As a Toll Graduate you will be part of a multi-billion dollar business that operates across 50 countries worldwide. Our graduates are young professionals who are eager to launch their careers within an operations environment. This means they are working within our transport and warehouse environments, learning how our sites operate and what it takes to provide the level of service to our customers that we do.

At Toll, our trucks are part of our business, but we have much, much more. Our operations stretch across different modes of transport that includes planes, ships and helicopters.

From freight forwarding, contract logistics and supply chain solutions, our graduates will gain experience across operations over a two-year program. Graduates can be exposed to continuous improvement, people management, financials, safety and technology while in rotations across operations. For us, it’s about our graduates learning the business from the ground up.

Frequently asked questions

Where could I be based?
Our sites are based across the outer suburbs predominately in Industrial estates. Toll operates across 50 countries and graduates can have international opportunities available during the graduate program. In Victoria, most of these sites are in the North-West.
Why do I need a drivers licence and car?
Quite often there is no public transport where our sites are located, also as many of our sites operate 24/7, graduates are required to be able to travel to and from their allocated site at various times of the day.
What hours could I be working?
You’ve heard the saying “without trucks, Australia stops”. Logistics is a 24 hour business, which means our graduates can work various hours depending on the site they are working at.
What is the program structure?
Our two-year program consists of 3 x 4 month rotations in the first year and 2 x 6 month rotations in the second year. Graduates are also provided with a full two-year development program focused on developing leadership capabilities.
What areas of the business do graduates rotate across?

Graduates will rotate across Global Logistics you could be based at a large FMCG or Retail customer site, Global Forwarding  where you will gain exposure across the end-to-end business of exports and imports, and also Express Services  which includes intermodal and specialised services and express services. These are three of the five core divisions across Toll. Graduates also complete rotations within one of the specialised areas of the business, for instance Sales Enablement or Supply Chain Solutions.

The program is designed to give our graduates an understanding of our core operations and how the business works.

Will I remain in Operations post program?
Yes, the program is focused on operations and building our future talent across the organisation. Graduates will transition into roles within Operations at the conclusion of the program.
